Many school districts have now transitioned to the side stop signal arm being installed on school buses.  These side stop signal arms are equipped with video cameras to record violators.

School bus violations do not need to be observed by police for drivers to receive a ticket.  All school bus violations reported to police are investigated.

Failing to stop for a school bus with red flashing light will result in a $250 fine, 60-day driver license suspension, and 5-points on your driving record.

Failing to stop for a school bus with a side stop signal arm (stop sign) will result in a $300 fine.

For safety's sake, stop for school buses with red flashing lights!
