It's car seat safety week and today, DYK that using a car seat for your child can reduce the risk of injury or death. Car seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers ages 1-4. The key to this is using the proper car seat for your child. All car seats are height and weight rated, so be sure to have the right seat for your child's measurements. Another factor to this is making sure that the car seat is installed properly, as nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly.
If you would like to schedule an appointment to have your child's car seat checked by a certified technician, please contact Tracy Fox at 570-421-6800 Ext. 1094 or email her at tfox@sarpd.com. This service is offered for free by the Stroud Area Regional Police Department.
