UPDATE (12/6/2022 @ 1327 HOURS):
On December 4, 2022, at approximately 06:31PM the Pocono Township Police Department was dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle accident in the area of SR0611 and SR0715 in Tannersville. Upon officer's arrival it was discovered that the operator of a black 2020 Subaru WRX, Alejandro J. Roman a 33-year-old male from Hazleton, PA., and the operator of a blue 2018 Nissan Rogue, Elisha Andre a 28-year-old female from Brooklyn, NY., were deceased due to injuries sustained during the accident. At the time of the accident three female passengers from the Nissan Rogue were also seriously injured and transported from the scene. The roadway was closed for several hours for accident investigation and cleanup.
On December 5, 2022, at approximately 09:03PM, Ruth C. Gedeon a 26-year-old female from Brooklyn, NY. passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest due to injuries sustained during the accident. At the time of this update the two hospitalized passengers have been treated for their injuries and released.
The Pocono Township Police Department was assisted by the Pocono Township Volunteer Fire Company, St. Luke's EMS, Pocono Mountain Regional EMS and Suburban EMS and the Monroe County Coroner's Office.
The investigation into this accident is on-going at this time.
