On December 29, 2022 at 1927 hours, Officers from the Pocono Township Police Department were advised of two males in The Loft Ski and Snowboard Shop who were acting disorderly and harassing customers and staff. While enroute to The Loft, Officers were advised that one male fled in a silver Nissan sedan at a high rate of speed toward The Crossings Premium Outlets. Officers observed the vehicle pass them when the Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) alerted that the registration on the vehicle was expired. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle where the Defendant, 39-year-old David A. Sheffer, refused to put his vehicle in park. Sheffer opened the door of his vehicle and immediately became combative with officers. After a short struggle, Sheffer was taken into custody. Sheffer is charged with (1 count) Obstruction of Justice (M2); (1 count) Resisting Arrest (M2); (1 count) Harassment (S); (1) vehicle code violation (S). Sheffer was placed in the Monroe County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
