On February 29, 2024, at 1228 hours, an officer from Pocono Township Police Department responded to the Abercrombie & Fitch Outlet in the Pocono Premium Outlets for a report of a theft by an employee. Upon further investigation it was discovered that since December 2023, the company noticed that money has been missing from register deposits. They later observed video surveillance of employee, Mariah Sanchez, a 23-year-old female from Bartonsville, taking money from registers while she was working.   

Contact was made with Sanchez, who admitted to stealing $1,160.00 in cash from the registers from December 2023 through January 2024.  Sanchez also admitted that from April 2023 to January 2024, she had also stolen approximately $1,000.00 in clothing from the store.  

Charges were filed on Sanchez for Theft by Unlawful Taking, Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property, all Misdemeanors in the First Degree.  Sanchez's court date and bail are pending.
