On October 16th, 2022 at approximately 1809 hours, Officers with the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to 712 SR0314 in Swiftwater, for a reported disabled vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found, Laura Petersen, of New York, NY, outside her vehicle with her eight (8) year old child inside. While speaking with Petersen about how she obtained two (2) flat tires on the same side of her vehicle, officers observed an odor of alcohol coming from her breath. After an investigation, officers arrested Petersen for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and took her to the Monroe County DUI Center for processing.
