On January 16, 2023, an officer from the Pocono Township Police Deptartment was on routine patrol in the area of SR0611 South in Bartonsville, Pocono Township. While patrolling, the officer observed a gray 2020 Volkswagen Jetta sedan commit several traffic violations.
At approximately 2259 hours, the officer stopped the vehicle on SR0611 South in the area of Bartonsville Commons. Contact was made with the driver, Kimberlee C. Peters, the defendant in this matter, along with her three juvenile passengers (ranging from ages 12 to 5). While speaking with Peters, the officer observed her to display several signs of drug impairment.
After further investigation, it was determined that Peters was driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Subsequently, Peters was arrested for endangering the welfare of three children, along with driving under the influence and related charges. She was transported to the Monroe County DUI Center where she was processed and released.
Toxicology results confirmed that Peters was under the influence of Amphetamine at the time of the traffic stop. Charges have been filed.
