On October 15, 2022 at approximately 1310 hours, a Pocono Township Police Officer observed a black sport bike and dark blue Suzuki Savage motorcycle driving recklessly at a high rate of speed on Learn Road in Tannersville, PA. The Officer was able to pull behind the motorcycles as they approached Cherry Lane Road. As the Officer activated his emergency lights and siren to perform a traffic stop the operator of the sport bike looked back and both motorcycles drove through the stop sign and onto Cherry Lane Road. The sport bike then proceeded to pass another vehicle and continue North on Cherry Lane Road. The operator of the Suzuki Savage, later identified as Giovanni D. Perez of East Stroudsburg, turned and observed the officer behind him. Perez accelerated forward before losing control of his motorcycle and crashing onto the shoulder of the roadway. Perez was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia and possessed a suspended driver's license. Perez refused medical attention following the accident. The operator of the black sport bike fled the scene and further investigation into his or her identity will follow.
