On April 20, 2025, at approximately 0146 hours, a Pocono Township Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the Tannersville area after observing a vehicle with an obstructed license plate. The officer made contact with the driver, Francisco Perez, a 39-year-old male from Scranton, PA. Following an investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence and unfit to operate a vehicle safely. He was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County DUI Center, where charges were subsequently filed. The individual was also found to have an outstanding warrant for Simple Assault out of Scranton PD and was placed into Monroe County Jail.
