On March 23rd, 2023, an officer with the Pocono Township Police Department was in routine patrol and observed a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee commit several moving violations. The officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, Sharif E Montgomery, a 33-year-old male from Tobyhanna. Through the investigation it was suspected that Montgomery was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. It was also found that Montgomery was operating the vehicle without having a valid driver's license. Upon receiving the results of Montgomery's blood test, it was confirmed that he was under the influence and charges were filed.
