On March 30, 2023, at 10:19 pm, a Pocono Township Police Officer patrolling the area of Route 715 in the area of Warner Road observed an oncoming vehicle swerve into his lane of traffic.  The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle and the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed onto the property of Pocono Elementary Center. The Officer eventually located the vehicle severely damaged with air bags deployed and a single male occupant operating the vehicle.  The driver was identified as Jonathan Aydemir, a 26-year-old male from Stroudsburg.  The investigation into the car accident showed that Aydemir rolled his vehicle twice over an embankment on the property.  Aydemir was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and was in possession of suspected narcotics and paraphernalia. Charges are pending.
